Type ASITHRU-30-SG solar modules are a product of the thin-film technology based on amorphous silicon; they consist of ASI® tandem cells deposited on glass. A noteworthy feature of these ASI THRU® solar modules is the low temperature dependence that ensures almost constant power independently of the ambient temperature. Not containing any heavy metals, like cadmium, the ASI THRU® modules are particularly environment-friendly. They are frameless, and consist of a front glass with the ASI® tandem cells deposited thereon, laminated with PVB foil to a tempered rear glass pane.

The frameless ASITHRU-30-SG modules are particularly well suited for installation in standard facade or roof mounting systems. The statics of the glass module is designed to satisfy almost all regulations of DIN 1055. To meet the guidelines for overhead glazing PVB is used as laminating foil. A general permit for these modules to qualify as overhead glazing elements has been applied for at the "Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik” (German Institute for Building Technology). The modules are already fitted with cable connectors to facilitate quick and safe series connections. Due to specific properties of the ASI THRU®- modules, no bypass diodes are required. The electrical data apply to standard test conditions (STC – 1000 W/m2, spectral distribution of AM 1.5, cell temperature 25°C) after reaching a stabilized state upon sun exposure for a few months. Initially the power output may exceed the nominal power by about 18%. The data are subject to a tolerance of ± 10%.
